    A 25-year-old man has been charged with assaulting a police officer while at the ACT Watch House yesterday afternoon. About 2pm yesterday (Tuesday, 17 June 2025), police attended Canberra Airport following reports of a man acting erratically in the terminal. Officers spoke to the man and determined he was intoxicated. When no care could be arranged for the man, he was taken into custody for his own protection.

    ACT Policing will be conducting trailbike training for officers in reserves and greenbelt areas across the ACT in the coming months. The AFP’s Driver Training Team delivers foundation and maintenance training for officers to gain and maintain their certification in the use of off-road motorcycles. In the coming weeks and months, Canberrans may see officers being trained (and in some cases patrolling) on trailbikes at locations across the ACT.

    A man and woman will face court after allegedly stealing items from recycling bins at the Mitchell Resource Management Centre. About 4.50am (11 June 2025), police responded to a report of two people inside the Mitchell Resource Management Centre loading items into a trolley. Officers located a 42-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman walking towards a vehicle while allegedly carrying stolen items.

    ACT Policing is seeking to identify the owner of several items of jewellery that were seized earlier this month. About 7:30pm on Tuesday (10 June 2025), police conducted a traffic stop on a car in Macquarie and located suspected stolen items in the vehicle. The items were seized and police are now appealing for anyone who has had jewellery, including earrings, necklaces and bracelets stolen recently to come forward.
