A 29-year-old man will face court today after allegedly robbing a bottle shop in Gungahlin last week and threatening to kill a man yesterday afternoon. About 1pm on Monday (26 May 2025), police allege the man entered the Cellarbrations store on Ernest Cavanagh Street and threatened staff with a large knife before fleeing the store with a sum of cash.

Police continue their crackdown on stores that sell illegal tobacco and vapes, at rural and regional communities that surround the A.C.T.It’s an ongoing surveilance program by NSW Police. Inspector Dave Cowell says In one case, Police raided a particular YASS convenience store…. the store’s operator has been issued with a summons to appear in court. It’s just one of multiple recent raids across regional NSW, near the A.C.T. border, in which illegal vapes and tobacco have been seized.

Nine Canberra drivers have lost their licences since Friday as police enforce an anywhere, anytime approach to impaired driving. Between Friday night and Sunday night, eight men and one woman were caught drink driving at locations across Canberra. About 6:00pm on Friday (30 May 2025), police stopped a 38-year-old man driving a grey Ford Falcon on Harricks Crescent, Monash. The driver underwent a roadside screening test, returning a positive result.
