The Clark County Department of Aviation has selected Eric Chung as its next airport manager, responsible for airport experience and quality assurance at Harry Reid Las Vegas International Airport (LAS). Chung, who began his new position March 31, will lead public-facing programming for the airport. Prior to joining LAS, Chung worked as the general manager of 670-unit residential property Veer Towers at City Center as well as the rooms executive at The Ritz-Carlton San Francisco and Rancho Mirage.

PVU Breaks Ground On Expansion

State, city and airport officials gathered this week to celebrate the groundbreaking of Provo Airport (PVU)’s latest expansion project. PVU, which saw nearly 900,000 passengers in 2024, will expand from four to ten gates, with new gates expected to open in late 2028. “’Anywhere You Want to Go—Fly Provo,’ isn’t just a slogan—it’s a promise,” said PVU airport director Brian Torgersen.

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) has begun construction on its $326-million Terminal 3 North 2 Concourse project. The new concourse, which is being designed by HOK in collaboration with DFDG Architecture and built by McCarthy Building Companies Inc., will add 173,000 square feet of space to the facility and will feature a multi-level space with six new gates, new hold rooms, public restrooms, a new lounge, an exterior terrace, and new sustainability infrastructure.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ), The New Terminal One, and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) Airports have selected Duty Free Americas (DFA) as its exclusive duty-free operator for John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK)’s New Terminal One. The $9.5-billion new terminal, which will open over several phases from 2026 to 2030, will feature a nearly 20,000-square-foot duty free experience entitled Skyline Duty Free by Duty Free Americas.

The Greater Asheville Regional Airport Authority (GARAA) and Paradies Lagardère have announced a concessions plan for the new airport terminal at Asheville Regional Airport (AVL) as part of the airport’s AVL Forward project. Paradies Lagardère will operate five new dining concepts, two retail stores and multiple vending concessions options in the new terminal, which is currently slated to complete its first construction phase this summer.
