Kirklees Pride has returned to the streets of Huddersfield this year for a massive celebration. Returning for its fourth year in a row, Kirklees Pride 2025 has seen thousands of people turn out in support of the LGBTQ+ community with live music, drag acts and stalls coming out in support. Taking place yesterday, on Saturday, June 7, the event saw families and people of all ages turn out.

A woman who broke both of her legs in a horse riding accident was rescued by Yorkshire Air Ambulance and rushed to hospital. In February 2024, Anne Woolley was riding her horse, Ted, on a remote bridle path near Darrington, Wakefield, when he was startled by a group of off-lead dogs. He reared and span, throwing Anne from the saddle and leaving her to crash to the ground. While Anne was wearing a protective air vest, which deployed and cushioned the fall, she was left in serious pain.

A man has died after falling from a flyover in Halifax. West Yorkshire Police were called to Halifax town centre at 11.35am earlier today to reports of a man falling from the Burdock Way flyover in Halifax. The emergency services rushed to the hospital, where they found a man in his 40s. He had fallen from the flyover onto the road below at Old Lane. Despite the efforts of paramedics, he was confirmed as dead at the scene. A road closure has been in put in place as the police remain on the scene.

The Piece Hall's 2025 summer concert line-up has been kick-started in style with a brilliant performance by The K's and James. TK Maxx presents Live at The Piece Hall will be seeing a number of bands and performers throughout the summer. This ranges from Gary Barlow to UB40 ft. Ali Campbell. However, it was The K's and James who kicked things off with a sold-out performance in front of thousands of fans. They performed on Friday, June 6 and on Saturday, June 7.
