ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — It's a Quad City homecoming for a Sudanese-born comedian! Samir Abdul was born in Sudan and grew up during the Darfur genocide. IOWA CITY, Iowa — An Iowa brewing staple has launched its brand-new lager, and there's a lot more to love than just the taste. Big Grove Brewery launched its new Neighborhood Beer in early March. It's the brewery's first lager. COAL VALLEY, Ill. — Niabi Zoo is celebrating a nearly decade-long conservation partnership with two events supporting its painted dogs. Since 2023, Niabi has had several African painted dogs. The wild dogs are known for their colorful, patchy coats and large ears. No two dogs have the same markings. Their typical home is in forests and plains throughout Africa. The animals are endangered, with habitat loss, disease and human interference are all to blame for the dwindling numbers.
