Death by Fruitcake, the latest film from Muscatine-based author and screenwriter Max Allan Collins, will premiere Friday, May 9, at The Last Picture House in downtown Davenport. The movie adapts a story from the Trash 'n' Treasures series, co-written by Collins and his wife, Barbara Collins, under the pen name Barbara Allan.

The theatre opened a new adaptation of Peter Pan on April 26, with three more performances scheduled on May 3 and 4. The 60-minute show will be performed on Saturday at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., and Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Nighswander Theatre, located at 2822 Eastern Avenue in the Annie Wittenmyer Complex. Peter Pan marks a milestone for the Davenport Junior Theatre.

DAVENPORT, Iowa — The annual Ranch Riders Easter Egg Hunt is returning on Saturday, April 19, at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds in Davenport. The motorcycle club has been busy prepping more than 30,000 Easter eggs with candy and prize certificates. The gates open at 11 a.m. and the hunts start at 1 p.m. A $5 donation, per person, is asked upon entry, but no one will be turned away for their inability to pay. It is a cash-only event.
