GARDAI raided the home of a suspected pipe bomb maker after a device was dropped from a drone and landed outside the home of an innocent family. The Irish Sun can reveal officers from the Emergency Response Unit stormed the property in Finglas just hours after the device was found close to a property in Glenties Park in the early hours of Monday morning. The property searched is linked to a man regarded by Gardai as “under the radar”.

The Irish Sun can reveal Daniel’s family - who have been calling for an inquest to take place since 2010 - were told of the development today. Although Richard Dekker, 39, was convicted of the 17-year-old’s murder and Trevor Noone, 38 convicted of his manslaughter, no inquest has ever been held.

CAGED gang boss Glen ‘Mr Flashy’ Ward is trying to clear his name — over the theft of 18 bottles of wine from celebrity chef Marco Pierre White’s restaurant. Ward — named in the High Court as the leader of the ‘Gucci Gang’ — and his brother Eric O’Driscoll, 23, will appear before the District Court this month to appeal convictions for possessing stolen property.

GARDAI have smashed a plot by the crime gang run by ‘Mr Big’ to smuggle a huge batch of heroin into Ireland. The mob’s plans are now in ruin after officers from the Garda National Drugs and Organised Bureau under ‘Operation Tara’ swooped on a car in the Coolock area of north Dublin on Friday afternoon. During the operation, investigators arrested a man from Spain, who’s in his 30s, as he travelled in a taxi and recovered €3m worth of heroin - 21 kilos - from the vehicle.
