A former world darts champion has been banned as a director after his company failed to pay hundreds of thousands of pounds in tax. Rob Cross, of Brierley Hill, West Midlands, won the PDC World Darts Championship in 2018 and five World Series of Darts titles. He was the director of Rob Cross Darts Ltd, which was set up for the 34-year-old to receive his earnings and prize money.

Plans to create more than 1,000 student bedrooms at the Merrion Centre in Leeds through the conversion of a 1960s office building and construction of a new 37-storey tower are recommended for approval next week (12 June 2025). The centre's owner, Leeds-based property investor and developer Town Centre Securities, submitted a planning application to Leeds City Council in 2023 for the development.

Northumbrian Water has agreed to pay a £15.7m enforcement package after an investigation by Ofwat found failures in how the company operated and maintained some of its sewage works and networks. The package will be paid for by the company and its shareholders for the benefit of Northumbrian Water customers and the local environment.

The managing director of Hallam Land, the land promotion arm of Henry Boot, is set to step down. Nick Duckworth will step down from the role at the end of the year, with a process to identify a successor underway. Hallam Land was formed in 1989 and Duckworth joined the business in 1992, establishing the South West office five years later. He held a number of positions before becoming managing director in 2016.
