Cornell has been the better team today, but Maryland keeps hanging around. Big Red up 9-7 heading to the fourth quarter.

CJ Kirst is starting to take over. He has Cornell’s last three goals. The Big Red leads 8-5 with 6:25 left in the third - largest lead of the game.

Halfway home in the national title game. It’s every bit as close as we expected. Cornell leads Maryland 6-5. The Big Red is 30 minutes away from its first national title - in any sport - in almost 50 years. Ryan Goldstein has a pair of goals. Michael Long has a pair of assists.

A very disappointing end to what was otherwise a successful season for Syracuse lacrosse. ACC Tourney title, most wins since 2017, first Final Four appearance since 2013. The players will appreciate all of that some day. Tonight, though, it stings for sure.

Finn Thomson ends a nearly 27-minute scoring drought for Syracuse. SU has been down 8-2 before, but it feels different against Maryland. ‘Cuse down six at the half.

It’s still early, but SU is in a lot of trouble. Six straight goals for the Terps and the Orange is down 6-1. ‘Cuse has gone more than 21 minutes now without a goal.

Despite six saves by Jimmy McCool in the first quarter, Maryland owns a 3-1 lead. Syracuse was hurt by four turnovers and is being outshot by the Terps 9-3.

Great start for the Orange. One shot, one goal. Owen Hiltz gives SU a 1-0 lead :51 in.

Cornell advances to Monday’s final w/ an 11-9 win over Penn St. CJ Kirst held w/o a point for the 1st time in his college career. Hugh Kelleher led the way w/ 3 goals. West Genny’s Ryan Sheehan assisted on the go-ahead goal. Westhill’s Luke Gilmartin with a major impact as well.

Cornell has found some offensive rhythm. Four goals in a four-minute span for the Big Red. This is what they do. Cornell up 10-6 late in the 3rd.

Cornell has to feel fortunate to be down only one at the half. Give a lot of credit to this Penn State defense for limiting the nation’s highest scoring offense to just four goals in the first half. Nittany Lions up 5-4. Penn State is 8-0 this season when leading at the half.
