SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) – It truly will be “Boeheim’s Army” this summer in the TBT. The team announced on Wednesday that Jim Boeheim will serve as Head Coach Emeritus. The Hall of Famer won’t coach in the actual games, but will help build the roster and will be involved in running practices. Buddy Boeheim appeared on the “Orange Nation” radio show with Steve Infanti and Paulie Scibilia and confirmed that his brother Jimmy will be playing for Boeheim’s Army as well.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) – Fran Brown continues to have a big week in the transfer portal as he landed wide receiver Johntay Cook on Thursday night. Cook spent the last two seasons at Texas where he caught 16 passes for 273 yards and two touchdowns. He briefly transferred to Washington out of the portal in December but never suited up with the Huskies. He’s the second receiver to join the Orange out of the portal this offseason. South Carolina ‘s Tyshawn Russell was the other.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) – A change of scenery did not change the fortunes of the Syracuse Crunch. Rochester goalie Devon Levi stopped all 30 shots that he faced Thursday night in leading the Amerks to a series sweep with a 4-0 victory in Game 3. The Crunch struggled to score all series long and got shutout for the final 156 game minutes, dating back to the second period of Game 1. Mason Jobst scored the first goal of the game on Thursday late in the first period.

Syracuse, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) – The Syracuse women’s lacrosse team closed out its regular season Thursday night against Boston College. The Eagles lived up to their #2 national ranking by building a 10-0 halftime lead. BC cruised from there for a 17-2 victory. The Orange simply did not have an answer for Rachel Clark who scored eight goals in the game. Mckenna Davis added seven points on two goals and five assists.
