Spoke w/ a couple of SU sources and I can assure you that Trebor Pena was being well-compensated here from a NIL perspective & was not "underpaid." No doubt that it's frustrating for fans and losing him is a big loss. The portal does work both ways though & some $$ just freed up.

Fran Brown announced at this NIL event today that Hall of Famer Dwight Freeney is joining his staff in a player development role. Freeney is still 2nd all-time in sacks at Syracuse and has remained closely connected with SU since being selected in the 1st round of the '02 Draft.

Georgia Tech transfer Naithan George tells me that he's recently had zooms with the following programs. North Carolina Syracuse Oklahoma Averaged 12.3 PPG and 6.5 APG.

Nate Kingz adds size at the guard position for SU and some much-needed outside shooting. This feels like a very good fit for the Orange.

Syracuse University announces that Carmelo Anthony will speak at Commencement next month. 'Melo's statement: "This is a full-circle moment and serves as a powerful reminder of how education, resilience and a supportive community can empower you to achieve your dreams. Go Orange!”

He was the last scholarship player from the current roster we were waiting to hear about. May be looking for a bigger role than what he anticipated having at Syracuse next season.

Huge news for the Orange as JJ & Donnie are both returning. These were the two pieces that Adrian Autry needed to retain and he was able to. It'll be interesting to see who the program adds out of the portal to round out the roster.
