FALL RIVER — The Herald News continues Winter All-Scholastics with wrestling all-stars. Three Greater Fall River high schools — Atlantis Charter, Somerset Berkley/Case co-op and Durfee — grinded out matches during the regular season and tournaments. Raiders' junior Alex Javier enjoyed plenty of success doing that, which was why he's named as the Herald News Wrestler of the Year.

FALL RIVER — Will LaBrie pitched six strong innings on Monday, lifting the Durfee baseball team to a come from behind 4-3 win against non-league Barnstable at B.M.C. Durfee High School. LaBrie scattered 7 hits, 2 earned run and fanned 7 batters. Matt Almeida pitched the seventh for his first save of the season for the Hilltoppers (3-1). Matt Sherry, Ben Sherry, Jayden Souza, Owen Moniz and Alvin Texeira each chipped in with hits in the win.

FALL RIVER — Nine baseball players from the Fall River area have been placed on the Player of the Week ballot. This poll is for performances from roundup on the week of April 7-12. Atlantis Charter baseball player Brady Cambra won last week's boys athlete of the week with 73% of the vote. SWANSEA — After enduring a heartbreaking loss to Taunton, Edy Latour refused to let one slip away against two-time defending Division 4 state champion Case on Wednesday. Clinging to a one-run cushion, the Dighton-Rehoboth sophomore left-hander had to buckled down as the Cardinals mounted a threat in the bottom of the seventh. With a runner on base and nobody out, Latour induced a force out at second and then retired the next batter on a flyout to left.

SOMERSET — The Somerset Berkley boys tennis team remained unbeaten on Tuesday after sweeping five straight games against Diman at Chapman's Court on the campus of Somerset Berkley Regional High School. Jackson Souza (6-1, 6-0); Max Petit (7-5, 6-3) and Jasper Troutman (6-2, 6-1) each won their singles match for SBR (2-0). Ian Foulds/Brayden Dorego (6-1, 6-0) and Nate Melo/Ryan Charest (7-6 (7-4), 6-2) each won their double matches.
