Kids League of California City started four years ago as an afterschool program for children. A little more than a year ago, with the help of Victory Baptist Church, Kids League of Cal City opened its community resource center.

Tehachapi's podcast, Tehachapod, began in March of 2020. Submissions should be emailed to [email protected] with the subject line "Tehachapod Music Submission." The email must include a brief artist bio, a link to the song (or an MP3 file), and contact information.

Mike Guillen says he was wrongfully evicted from his Mojave apartment after a fire broke out nearby in April of 2022. He now lives in a van parked outside the apartment. Mike Guillen has called on Kern County officials to investigate his former landlord. Guillen alleges the landlord wrongfully evicted him and two roommates. Guillen says he wants justice and that resources aren't as important. He describes himself as displaced rather than being homeless.
