PENSACOLA BEACH, Fla. – A video recorded in Florida on Saturday shows the moment a waterspout moved off the Gulf and onto the beach as severe weather roared across the region. A slow-moving storm system has been relentlessly slamming Florida’s Gulf Coast, bringing flooding rain and powerful thunderstorms to areas that desperately need the precipitation to put a dent in the state’s ongoing drought, which is the worst since 2012.

LAS VEGAS – First responders in Nevada are searching for a man who was swept away Tuesday as the Las Vegas area experienced torrential rain during a thunderstorm that broke records. According to a report from FOX 5 Las Vegas, emergency crews in Henderson raced to rescue a man from a wash after he was swept away amid the record-breaking rain. A wash is a channel that’s meant to get water out of the city quickly when it rains.

NEW ORLEANS – Dangerous severe weather and potentially life-threatening flooding continues to threaten communities across the South from Texas through Louisiana and Mississippi along the Gulf Coast on Wednesday. Extreme weather has been relentlessly pounding the region for days, leading to the death of a 10-year-old Texas girl who was swept away by floodwaters as she walked home from school. Three other people were injured when a bolt of lightning struck a home in Texas, sparking a fire.
