SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – Santa Fe police took a suspect into custody Saturday who was accused of burglarizing a home and later battery on a peace officer. On Saturday afternoon, police approached 41-year-old Alejandro Daniel Gallegos to question him about the burglary. However, police say Gallegos fled on a bike near the intersection of Airport Road and Cerrillos. Officers used a taser in an attempt to subdue him a few blocks down the road.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (USC SID) – The South Carolina softball team (44-17) dropped the third game of the Super Regional matchup against UCLA (52-11) Sunday afternoon (May 25) 5-0 to end the season. The Bruins jumped to an early lead in the first after three consecutive hits to start the game. Sam Gress (14-11), who got the start for the Gamecocks kept the Bruins from adding on any more through the fourth. In the fifth, Gress finished her 4 2-3 inning outing with five runs and two hits.

CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – The Cardinals scored nine runs within the first two innings to cruise to a 10-0 win over Coventry in its playoff opener. Ryan Weibling homered and drove in three runs. Anthony Groner tripled and also finished with 3 RBIs. Dylan Mancini closed out his day with two hits and scored twice. Weibling (3 IP, H), Groner (1 IP, H) and Noah Anzevino (1 IP, H) combined for a three-hitter in Canfield’s victory.
