CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Rory McIlroy has done it. The 35-year-old from Northern Ireland won the 2025 Masters to complete the career grand slam. It took going to a sudden-death playoff hole on the par-4 18th hole against Justin Rose, but McIlroy holed our for birdie to defeat Rose. It’s the 18th playoff in Masters history and first since Rose lost to Sergio Garcia in 2017. McIlroy becomes just the sixth golfer to complete career Grand Slam.

AUGUSTA, G.A. (WCSC) - After much of Monday at Augusta National was a wash out, players and patrons saw a full day of sun and clear skies for day two of practice rounds on Tuesday. World No. 1 and defending Masters Champion Scottie Scheffler took the course on Tuesday, playing the front nine. He spoke later in the afternoon, admitting to dealing with a few allergies and sniffles. It’s no cause for concern for the 2024 Masters Champion though. “Yeah, this rain and pollen out here,” Scheffler said.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Scheduled road closures will be in effect Monday morning for Charleston’s annual St. Patrick’s Day parade. The first road to close will be Radcliffe Street between Rutledge Avenue and King Street for the parade lineup starting at 9 a.m.At 9:30 a.m., King Street will close from Radcliffe Street to Calhoun Street. At 9:50 a.m., the entirety of the parade route, pictured below, will be closed down in anticipation of the parade’s 10 a.m. start.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The South Carolina Tennis Foundation announced on Monday that Jean Evans and Shelby Rogers will be inducted into the South Carolina Tennis Hall of Fame, Class of 2024. They say both women have had a long-lasting impact on tennis in South Carolina through their strong play and passion for the sport. Shelby Rogers, who now lives in Pompano Beach, FL, was born and raised in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.

He spends his spare time working in a local Mount Pleasant coffee shop, Vintage Coffee Cafe. “This is my passion,” Ycaza said. “I want to own a coffee shop one day.”Ycaza says the side job isn’t a necessity as he is able to live comfortably off his professional soccer wages.
