The Berkeley City Council will consider a proposal Tuesday that would make it easier to build denser housing all of the city’s neighborhoods, taking another step toward implementing its precedent-setting 2021 move to ban single-family zoning in the city. It’s part of a continued push to shape the future of housing in Berkeley, which includes a goal of 9,000 new homes by 2031 to meet state requirements.
