GOOD NEWS Apr 11, 2025, 8:58 AM SALT LAKE CITY — One Cottonwood Heights woman is taking a delivery to the food bank full of birthday cake kits. Kathie Hawkins tells us she and her husband held a drive to put together the kits. Their goal was to make 100 but ended up making 200! She’s dropping them off Friday morning and hopes to bring more attention to our food banks.

GOOD NEWS Apr 10, 2025, 11:34 AM SALT LAKE CITY — A teacher in the Alpine School District got a big surprise after he was awarded a $10,000 Innovation Award. The Texas Instruments Foundation is highlighting Mr. James Bentley for integrating artificial intelligence in his classes to help keep students engaged in learning. He said it helps students who struggle with vocabulary or concepts. Students say they like Mr. Bentley’s interactive teaching style.

GOOD NEWS Apr 7, 2025, 11:05 AM SALT LAKE CITY — One international program is bringing teachers in from Mexico to bring Mexican culture to Utah kids. The visiting teachers program brought Lucia de la Cruz Rodriguez into Midvale Elementary to teach Spanish in a dual-language program there. Parents and educators say the program helps not only with language instruction but also with cultural enrichment, especially for Mexican and Mexican-American students in Utah.
