WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — People from across the state gathered in Wilmington Thursday for an educational summit focused on the needs of youth. Youth of North Carolina hosted their third annual Youth Resilience Summit Thursday at Port City Community Church in Wilmington. The event brings together leaders, non profits, school employees, mental health providers and law enforcement who work with youth across the state.

Avelo Airlines, Wilmington International Airport and the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce coming together to give the students a first-hand look at the aviation industry. WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — School might just be getting underway, but things are heating up on the pitch for UNCW. UNCW Women’s Soccer began the season with a 2-1 victory over Charlotte on the road. The game would be scoreless for the first half, but the Spartans scored a goal within seconds of the second half. Just under the 35th min, UNCW would get on the board with a goal by Ayanna Parker to tie the game 1-1. Defensive pressure by both squads would result in a draw as time expired.
