That may seem low, but 2022 saw the highest voter turnout in a midterm election since 1970, according to the Pew Research Center. Most counties in Missouri are in line with the national trend. Within mid-Missouri are Laclede and Morgan counties, two counties with different stories. In Laclede County, more registered voters sat out the 2022 election (53%) than participated (47%).
