May 8—A lawsuit filed against the Lakeside County Water and Sewer District alleges the public was not given adequate notice before the board approved construction of a new wastewater treatment facility and service for a proposed resort development. Watchdog group Citizens For a Better Flathead and district ratepayer Bruce Young filed the suit in Flathead County District Court on April 16.

The Bigfork High School band is closing another successful year with wins at an Idaho jazz competition and students getting to go to the state music festival.  Band Director Brian Phillips is back in the classroom after a trip to Great Falls for the state solo and ensemble festivals. Music festivals are held in 12 districts each spring, followed by the solo and ensemble festivals.

Apr. 6—Over the last 18 years, Chelsea Gesler has watched the children of Logan Health's staff grow up at Kid Kare, the hospital system's in-house day care program. Currently the senior department assistant, Gesler spent many years as a teacher at the day care that's been operating since the 1990s. She wanted a career where she could balance kids and work, like many of the employees at the hospital who utilize the center. "We get very close to our families that are here.

Glacier National Park’s decision to implement timed ticketed entry next summer drew mixed reviews from visitors and stakeholders, though officials say it will help further reduce congestion.  The changes will include designated time blocks for the west entrance of the Going-to-the-Sun Road and the North Fork area of the park. This means when a park visitor purchases a vehicle reservation ticket on Recreation.gov, they will choose from various times to enter the park throughout the day.
