    DECATUR — A Decatur man is facing multiple charges after police say he broke into his ex-girlfriend's home, sexually assaulted her and battered her disabled godfather. Decatur police officers were called Thursday morning to a home in the 1200 block of Hyde Park Court to a report of a man trespassing on the property. According to a police affidavit, a woman called to report the 53-year-old man yelling to let him into the house.

    IVESDALE — The Piatt County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a vehicle apparently struck and killed a bicyclist in rural Ivesdale on Wednesday. Sheriff’s deputies responded to the area of 750 North 1500 East Road at around 9:43 p.m. Wednesday after receiving a report of a vehicle hitting a bicyclist, per a news release from the Piatt County Sheriff’s Office. Upon arrival, deputies found a 41-year-old male,who was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.

    WARRENSBURG — The two men arrested Wednesday in connection with a string of Macon County car burglaries had taken nearly $1,400 from upwards of 30 vehicles, police reports show. Macon County Sheriff's Office deputies and Warrensburg Police Department officers responded to reports of several vehicle burglaries and a suspicious persons call early Wednesday morning, according to a deputy's affidavit.

    DECATUR — Decatur police officers are warning area residents of a phone scammer pretending to be one of their own. The Decatur Police Department received reports on Thursday of phone calls coming from a person claiming to be a Decatur police officer telling area residents they have missed court and need to pay a fine or post bail. The calls are coming from the number 217-952-4783, according to a news release from Sgt. Brian Earles.
