    WATERBURY – The driver who fled the scene after striking and killing a city man who was crossing the street to pick up dinner in 2023 was sentenced to three years in prison Wednesday in Waterbury Superior Court. Herbert Kusako, 45, mowed down Jae-Mar Dillard, 30, in a 2001 Subary Legacy as Dillard was going to get Chinese food on March 8, 2023. Dillard suffered catastrophic injuries, and family members later removed him from life support.

    WATERBURY – Jenna Riccio introduced her husband Tim to the Danish concept of hygge – creating a warm atmosphere and enjoying the good things in life with good people. Tim Riccio said his family – son Nate, now 12, and daughter Julien, 2 – experienced hygge in their home recently when they were all playing with leftover birthday party balloons, laughing as they did their best to keep the helium-filled orbs from touching the ground.
