    Voters in four Central New York school districts Tuesday rejected proposed budgets, setting the stage for a likely revote in June. The Cazenovia, Cortland, Jordan-Elbridge and Vernon Verona Sherrill districts didn’t get enough “yes” votes to move ahead with their proposed budgets for the 2025-26 school years. In some cases, more voters approved the budgets than rejected them -- but the budgets still failed.

    Syracuse, N.Y. -- The 2025 Syracuse Half Marathon starts today at 7:53 a.m.More than 3,000 runners will start from downtown. (See course map.)South State Street between East Adams Street and Erie Boulevard East will be closed until 2 p.m.Other roads will close as the runners come through Sedgwick, Eastwood, Franklin Square and other parts of downtown.     Syracuse, N.Y. -- Get out and enjoy the snow Friday and Saturday because it’ll start to melt away Sunday, according to the National Weather Service. Snow flurries will continue across much of Central New York Friday and Saturday, though only about an inch or less is expected each day. A winter storm warning for much of the region has been lifted. Still, many schools were on a two-hour delay this morning. And parts of Oneida and Oswego counties remain under a winter storm warning.

    Syracuse, N.Y. -- If you woke up to light snow or bare streets this morning, keep paying attention:The storm system expected to hit Central New York this morning is still moving across the area, according to the National Weather Service. It’s an odd situation, the service said in its morning briefing. “This is a unique storm system in that there will be breaks or lulls in the steady snow at times, even in the winter storm warning counties,” the service said.

    Syracuse, N.Y. -- Up to a foot of snow could fall in Central New York starting this afternoon into Friday, with the heaviest snowfall and squalls hitting during Thursday morning’s commute, according to the weather service. Snow showers will develop this afternoon, especially north of the New York Thruway in parts of Onondaga, Oswego and Oneida County, according to the National Weather Service.
