Chris Chip Satiphone, age 34, of Alto, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. Mr. Satiphone was born on December 12, 1989 in Habersham County, Georgia to the late Phomma Satiphone and Phaengsy Satiphone. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Somdee Sathiphone. Chris will be remembered as a great son and brother. He lived his life to the fullest and will be deeply missed.

(AUBURN, Ala.) – The No. 10 University of North Georgia men’s tennis team saw its 2024 season come to an end at the hands of No. 6 Columbus State in the finals of the Southeast Region #2 Tournament Tuesday afternoon. The Nighthawks fell 4-1 to the Cougars, ending their season with a 14-8 record after making their fifth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament and third straight appearance in the Round of 32. The day started with a loss in the doubles point to CSU.

Ill.) – For the fourth consecutive year, the No. 10 Truett McConnell University women’s golf team is headed to the NAIA National Championships on Tuesday, May 14-Friday, May 17 at TPC Deer Run in Silvis, Illinois. The Lady Bears earned their place at nationals with an at-large bid due to a sharp performance as a team, as seen by TMU sitting pretty in the NAIA Top 25 for the entire duration of the season.

Mary Ivester Rohletter 95, formerly of Demorest, Georgia passed away on May 13, 2024. Mrs. Rohletter was born in Hollywood, Georgia on July 6, 1928. She was the daughter of the late Lamar and Lila Ivester and was the last remaining member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Ray H. Rohletter, her brothers, Archie Ivester, VanNess Ivester, Lamar Ivester, Jr. and her sisters Genieva Ivester McCurry and Edith Ivester Ramey.
