    Yvonne “Bunny/Bunner” Marie (Mertens) Wilson, 88 years old, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Lakewood Care Center. Bunny was born on October 16, 1936, in Wadena, Minnesota, to Edward and Lena (Robinson) Mertens. She graduated from Staples High School in 1954. On August 21, 1954, she married Walter Wilson, and together they made their home in the Staples area, where they raised their four children.

    Marilyn Tyrrell passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 1, 2025, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, Minnesota, at the age of 82. Marilyn was born on August 7, 1942, to Orville and Clarice (Lerbakken) Sundsrud in Wildrose, North Dakota. At the age of 15, she moved to Staples, Minnesota, where she graduated from Staples High School. It was there she met her high school sweetheart, David Tyrrell. The two were married on June 17, 1962, and shared 62 wonderful years together.

    Alvin Doonan, 85, of Deerwood passed away peacefully with his wife by his side. He was born May 3, 1940 in Willow River to Basil and Lillian (Randall) Doonan, graduated from Crosby-Ironton High School class of 1958 and joined the Navy serving his country for 4 years. After his military service, he came home to Minnesota and eventually returned to his hometown. He married his wife Jan and they spent 41 years enjoying motorcycle rides, car shows, swap meets, auctions and traveling.

    Katherine Marie Hoffmann, age 77, of Brainerd, MN, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening May 28, 2025. Kathy was born and lived in Brainerd most of her life. She was known to be a loving and generous person. She made friends wherever she went. Her smile and laugh will be greatly missed by everyone who crossed her path. She left behind a family who cherished and loved her: sister and nieces Virginia and husband Ron Crow, Kat Crow, Caitlyn Crow, Brother Steve, and his wife Harriet Hoffmann.
