HUDSON, Ohio — A family-owned fireworks business in Hudson is bracing for impact. American Fireworks Company says that, much like all fireworks retailers, it gets 95% of its products from China. As tariffs continue on goods from China, pricing uncertainty could impact your summer celebrations. American Fireworks says it's looking at a 150% price increase on its supply from China. Owner John Sorgi says absorbing that cost for his family business, in operation since 1902, is a gut punch.

AKRON, Ohio — Akron residents found out their electric bills might be going up next month. The city announced it had entered into a new agreement with Dynegy, formerly Energy Harbor, to offer 100% carbon-free energy. The new deal includes a rate hike from 4.97 cents to 9.24 cents, nearly doubling those fees. That new rate will be applied to bills in May 2025.

AKRON, Ohio — An inclusive piece of equipment is now set up and ready to help folks in Akron. Inside the court is a universal changing table, an adult-sized table that accommodates anyone regardless of weight, height, mobility, or ability. This is believed to be the first universal changing table inside a courthouse in the country. "We're able to raise or lower the table, it's pretty easy to use," said Akron Municipal Judge Ron Cable.

Students will commit to dancing from noon until midnight with no breaks!In its 14th year, the 12-hour dance marathon known as "NESS" supports Autism Awareness in the community. WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS, Ohio — A house for sale in Warrensville Heights was hit not once but twice by thieves and vandals. A local realtor says it's a situation she's never seen. "I've been selling real estate for 19 years, and I've never had anybody break in and spill paint everywhere," said Shoshana Socher, "head honcho" of The Socher Group, Keller Williams Greater Metropolitan. The bungalow Socher has listed on Harvard Road was broken into through a kitchen window.

BROOK PARK, Ohio — The Brook Park Recreation Center will open a little later the next few days to allow demolition to begin on roofs damaged in August 2024 during a tornado outbreak. On March 26 and 27, the recreation center will open at noon. CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio — Soon you will start to see some big changes along the river in Cuyahoga Falls. The city is spending millions on its Riverloop Project, rebuilding its boardwalk and the walking trail above it. The boardwalk along the Cuyahoga River is a favorite for many families in the spring and summer. Built in the 1980s into bedrock and water, the structure is in disrepair in some spots and completely shut down in others.

AKRON — Dark streets in Akron are troubling a city councilman. Akron's Ward 2 Councilman Phil Lombardo has been tracking burnt-out street lights for six years. "We've got a residential house here with several cars in the driveway. I believe the residents would appreciate their street lit up," said Lombardo, standing on Creighton Avenue in his ward. Lombardo marks the dark pole with a bright pink ribbon, sometimes tying one on more than once.
