A proposal to introduce dedicated motorhome parking in Sudbury has gained the backing of the town council, which believes it would be a boost for tourism. Town councillors voiced their support for the provision of space in long-stay car parks, for motorhome owners to be able to stay in Sudbury overnight. After a member of public raised the matter earlier this month, Sudbury councillors agreed to contact Babergh District Council, seeking an update on the implementation of its parking strategy.

Ruth Hendry, representing Great Cornard, was named as the chairman of Babergh District Council for the next 12 months, during the authority’s recent annual meeting.
