A Sutton man stole £750 of Lego and other goods from the same store during a bad time in his life when he was losing his flat, a court has heard. Lee Gebbie targeted B&M on Baum's Lane, Mansfield, six times between January 13 and May 5, magistrates in Mansfield were told. On one occasion he was challenged by a member of staff but denied stealing anything, and on another he fled via a fire escape. The court heard the thefts were aggravated by his record.

A Mansfield alcoholic who spat in a veteran police officer’s face and hurled violent threats left him disgusted and fearful for his family, a court has heard. Becky Allsop, prosecuting, said officers were called to Mansfield Marketplace at 2pm on April 30, following reports Alan Smith was being “abusive with a dog” and breaching a community protection notice. He refused to leave the area and spat in the officer’s face, saying: “You’re going to be shot.

A dangerous driver who rammed a police car and reached 114mph during a high-speed chase through Sutton that only ended when officers deployed a stinger will be sentenced at the crown court. Officers in marked and unmarked cars became aware of a Ford Puma being driven suspiciously by Timothy Moloney when it exited McDonald’s in Sutton and tried to turn into King’s Mill Hospital, at 10pm on April 22.
