GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Heads-up for drivers on the northeast side of Grand Rapids: A major section of Fuller Avenue is set to close on Friday, June 7. Initially, the stretch of Fuller between Michigan Street and the I-196 corridor was set to close at 6 a.m. Friday; however, as of 6:30 a.m., it remained open. Once Fuller is shut down, it is scheduled to be closed until 5 p.m. Friday, June 14. Crews will be working on sanitary sewer repairs in the stretch of roadway.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Thousands of people will descend on downtown Grand Rapids over the weekend for the Amway River Bank Run. With that comes the closures of many streets in and around downtown. Closures will start at 3 p.m. on Friday afternoon and continue through Sunday morning. Beginning Sunday, April 28, at 7 a.m., a double-lane closure will be in place along southbound US-131 at Ann Street and continue through Burton Street.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Polka music and the smell of pierogi will fill the air this weekend in Grand Rapids as the 51st annual Pulaski Days returns in Grand Rapids. Pulaski Days is where all 14 Polish halls and fraternal organizations in Grand Rapids are open to the public. Each hall will feature Polish music, live bands, and traditional Polish foods. The annual celebration is meant to keep and celebrate the large Polish community that calls West Michigan home.

The 35th season kicks off Tuesday with Funny Girl, which is making its Michigan debut. “It is so exciting to be celebrating 35 years of bringing incredible theater to our community,” said Meghan Distel, the president and CEO of Broadway Grand Rapids.
