Matt and Carly Keel first ran The Penruddocke Arms near Dinton between 2013 and 2023, before moving on to try different things. They then leased the pub to the Nationwide Gastro Pubs, which managed the Arms until March 2025, when it closed with “immediate effect”.

Norris, 38, has replaced Christopher Biggins in the honorary role at Studio Theatre, which has been a part of his life since at least 2007, when he played the role of Algernon Moncrieff in The Importance of Being Earnest. His debut as a playwright, At First Sight, was first performed at the Ashley Road theatre in 2011 and then found critical acclaim in London.

The renovation of the former Home Store and Tiger building next to the Poultry Cross began in May. Builders have removed the windows and previous shopfront, and signage around the construction site is advertising for bakery staff. Earlier this year, Gail's applied to Wiltshire Council for planning permission to make alterations to the existing fascia. The company also wants to install three externally-lit signs and three non-illuminated projecting signs.

Ukelele players perform at last year's Sip N Strum Community Festival, held at the George and Dragon (Image: Gregory Cook) A FAMILY-FRIENDLY music festival is returning to the George and Dragon pub after a successful first event last year. The Sip N Strum Community Festival will be held on Saturday, June 28 at the Castle Street venue, running from 12pm until 7pm. The event has been organised by ‘Ukulele Vagabond’ Gregory Cook, a teacher, workshop coordinator and performer.
