EAST GRAND FORKS — Costly errors and plate appearances gave way to East Grand Forks Sacred Heart relinquishing a 2-0 lead heading into the fifth inning against Fertile-Beltrami on Thursday. Fertile-Beltrami did all the damage late, pulling out a 4-3 win over Sacred Heart at Stauss Park. The Falcons took advantage of small-ball tactics in the fifth to tie the game. GRAND FORKS — Kolby Koerner has been working on closing out his meets since last summer. A patient demeanor and improved putting awarded him a 68 on Wednesday and his second consecutive medal to start the year, as he led Grand Forks Red River to a 296 first-place finish at the Red River Invitational at King's Walk. The tough, but familiar, April conditions at the Arnold Palmer signature links were a tough matchup, but Koerner and the Roughriders never wavered.
