GRAND FORKS – Annika Surface got her driver's license later than most of her peers. While other students in her class were learning to drive, her family didn't have a car for her to use, and the car they eventually got frequently broke down and didn't reliably run. For Surface, who graduated from Community High School last week, there have been times when getting to where she needed to go could be a challenge.

GRAND FORKS — The Grand Forks Public Schools activities department soon will be reviewing bids for an athletic apparel contract, with a hope that the process will streamline uniform purchasing for sports programs. Williston beat Sheyenne 15-4.

GRAND FORKS — Karlee Walsh and East Grand Forks Senior High are confident and comfortable during the Minnesota Section 8AA playoffs. Naturally, they didn’t mind a sixth-inning jam while holding a one-run lead to Warroad on Monday. A two-run triple from Calleigh Hebel turned a 4-1 lead into a 4-3 lead. But with two outs and a runner on third, there was no wavering. “I trust my team,” Walsh said. “I don’t really get too nervous about it. I know we’re going to figure it out and we’re going to do it.
