GRAND FORKS – An array of starter clubs lined the putting green at King’s Walk Golf Course on a recent Tuesday. Each new golfer steps up to use Grand Forks Central graduate Jim Hackenberg’s latest golf training innovation – a putter tool with two large sockets for each arm, coated in his signature orange color. It’s an icebreaker into the sport for the 30 or so women who have come to King’s Walk’s "Divot a Try" lessons.

GRAND FORKS — The Grand Forks Royals are going into the American Legion baseball season looking for the bottom of the lineup to take advantage of early opportunities brought on by injury. One of the first opportunities the Royals ran into on Monday against Dickinson was getting the hard contact into the field of play. In an 11-0 and 2-0 doubleheader sweep at Kraft Field, the Royals combined for seven hits across both games.

The Department of Art at UND will be transforming the park's community room into a studio environment where visitors will see students working at tables or easels. GRAND FORKS – Golf has continued to grow in popularity nationwide since COVID and it has shown no signs of slowing in Grand Forks. Projected revenue from green fees at King’s Walk Golf Course and Lincoln Golf Course is up some 70% since 2019. Revenue from season passes and driving ranges also has increased. King’s Walk is budgeted for $485,000 in green fees this season, with an additional $410,000 in season passes and $190,000 in driving range fees.

GRAND FORKS — After the best finish to a season as a program, Hillsboro-Central Valley's Kailee Kittelson, Peyton Quam and Carsi Hattlestad celebrated a bittersweet All-Star series, which began at UND's Albrecht Field on Monday evening. The trio led the Burros to a third-place finish at the North Dakota Class B state tournament and were honored with invitations to the Scheels North Dakota Softball All-Stars games. It marked the final time they would take the field together.
