    BRONX, New York (WABC) -- Two people are in critical condition after being shot in the Bronx Saturday morning, police say. Around 9:20 a.m., a 19-year-old was shot in the armpit and a 22-year-old was shot in the torso, according to police. Nearly half a dozen shots were fired through the windows of an SUV in the borough's popular Little Italy police say, an area packed with shoppers near Arthur Avenue.

    MIDTOWN, Manhattan (WABC) -- The man accused of firing gunshots in the Times Square subway station to stop a mugger from robbing a woman was arraigned on Thursday, and his bail was set. The man charged with trying to rob that passenger was freed immediately without having to post bail. The judge noted the seriousness of the charges against John Rote, 43, pulling the handgun and firing it - but also his complete lack of criminal history, setting bond at $10,000.

Grief counsellors were made available at West Islip High School on Monday. It was an incredibly tough day for the boys' many friends, but students also say the brothers left them with a lot to be grateful for.

They are an amalgamation of different organizations - including local Jewish groups opposed to the conflict and calling for an immediate cease-fire. The demonstrators say they are in no way defending the terrorism of October 7, but say for the sake of the civilian population in Gaza in time for the violence to stop.
