It is owned by Nexstar Media Group and shares a connection with the company's only radio station, WGN (720 AM), which focuses on news, talk, and sports. The station's studios are situated on West Bradley Place in the North Center neighborhood of Chicago, making it unique as the only major commercial television station in the city with its main studio located outside of the Loop area. The station's transmitter is positioned on top of the iconic Willis Tower in the Loop.
