UK investment platform and pension provider, TILLIT is calling on the government to raise minimum pension contributions to tackle Britain’s looming retirement crisis. Chancellor Rachel Reeves has previously initiated discussions about increasing contributions inspired by the Australian system, yet no changes have been made. While Australia requires employers to contribute 11.5% into workers’ pensions, the minimum contribution rate in the UK is 8% and only 3% must come from the employer.

Space X’s Starship is the most powerful launch system ever created. As the name suggests, it is something worthy of a sci-fi film. Starship is the largest ever flying object, weighing 5,000 tonnes. It towers above the Texan landscape at 121 metres high (25 metres higher than Big Ben’s tower), with 33 massive engines. Space X has built a launch tower which not only launches Starship but also catches the 71-metre rocket as it plummets back to Earth from space.

A recent paper produced by the Tax Law Review Committee of the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS) has shone a light on the supreme unfairness of the way in which the High Income Child Benefit Charge (HICBC) operates to remove Child Benefit when the claimant’s (or their partner’s) income exceeds £50,000. At this point, the Child Benefit starts to be tapered away and, at £60,000, is completely removed.
