SPRINGDALE -- Some Washington County residents woke to find no power Saturday morning after a early morning thunderstorm caused outages and some damage in Springdale. John Luther, Washington County's director of emergency services, said there were some trees and power lines downed from wind during the storm but no injuries and no serious damage. Luther said he had received no information that a tornado passed through the area during the storm.

FAYETTEVILLE -- Washington County officials on Thursday added another $500,000 to the construction budget for the new Emergency Operations Center. The Quorum Court voted unanimously to approve an ordinance to transfer the money from the county's unappropriated reserves. The new building is expected to be completed this fall.
