Organizers say Luke Bryan had to cancel due to an ongoing illness and his good friend Eric Church is stepping in to perform at the Viaero Summer Jam Concert Series.     A Nebraska State Patrol Trooper was injured Monday night in Omaha when the trooper’s patrol unit was struck by a large truck. Patrol spokesman Cody Thomas says it happened around 8:30 as troopers were performing traffic control on Interstate 80 near 50th Street as the Omaha Police Department was handling a crash in the area. “The initial crash was blocking the shoulder and one lane of traffic,” Thomas says.

    Lincoln animal control officers were busy during the this weekend’s sweltering heat. “We received six calls about dogs being left in hot cars and we ended up issuing three citations to those owners,” says manager Denise Bollwitt. She tells KLIN News four of those citations were issued to an Idaho man who left his four dogs inside a vehicle with the windows rolled up at the Gateway Mall while he searched for his son inside the mall.

    The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office says a 62-year-old woman received an unsolicited email from Pay Pal on June 18 and called the number provided. “They tricked her in that she needed to pay  $30,000 and she went to the bank and got out of her saving’s account,” says Chief Deputy Ben Houchin. The woman then took the money and put it into two different bitcoin ATM’s and sent it to the scammer.
