MADISON, Ala. (WHNT) — A Madison City Schools bus driver has been charged with engaging in a sexual act with a student, the Madison Police Department announced Friday. According to MPD, Azaria Ashford, 24, of Huntsville, is charged with school employee engaging in a sex act with a student under the age of 19. HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — According to Warn List, nearly 100 Huntsville Boeing employees were notified Tuesday that they would soon lose their jobs. The list shows that 71 employees will be laid off starting April 18 from The Boeing Company. The employees will receive two months of severance pay following the layoff. This latest batch of layoffs comes after 150 were let go of their positions in December of 2024.

(WHNT) — Indictments filed with the Cullman County Circuit Court are shedding new light on charges against the Hanceville Police Chief, several of his officers, and one of those officer’s spouses. Earlier this week Cullman County District Attorney Champ Crocker and Sheriff Matt Gentry announced charges against Hanceville Police Chief Jason Marlin, Officers Cody Kelso, Jason Wilbanks, Williams Shelnutt and Eric Kelso along with Donna Kelso, the wife of one of the officers.

DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) — Decatur City Schools says an 8th grader has been detained after a possible threat at Austin Junior High School. The school system previously said that Austin Junior High School was operating under ‘heightened alert.’ According to DCS, rumors about a potential threat to the school involving the Valentine’s Day dance had caused them to begin those protocols. DCS said that an 8th-grade student involved in the incident had been detained.

DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) — The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency has canceled an emergency missing child alert for two children missing from Toney who were found in Wyoming. The Decatur Police Department told News 19 on Thursday that 9-year-old Lily Delores Gray and her brother, 5-year-old Caden Antonio Gray were located safely. Police in Cheyenne, Wyo., said the kids were found in a hotel parking lot. Officers said they received information that a couple with warrants were in the area.
