COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - As college football has evolved over the last half-decade, a growing casualty of the modern game has been spring games. According to a report from On3.com in March, more than 20 programs across the country have scrapped a traditional spring game, many choosing instead to have an open practice for fans. In the Southeastern Conference, those programs include Texas, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Missouri, Auburn, and Alabama.

(KBTX) - Samford guard Joshua Holloway committed to the Texas A&M menβs basketball team out of the transfer portal Thursday, Holloway confirmed with KBTX. The 6-foot-2, 160-pound rising junior follows his head coach Bucky McMillan from Birmingham to Aggieland with the move. In two seasons with the Bulldogs, Holloway averaged 6 points, 2 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game in 17.7 minutes per game. Holloway is the fourth player to join the Aggie roster from the transfer portal and second Thursday.

(KBTX) - Texas A&M announced the addition of Indiana transfer forward Mackenzie Mgbako to the Aggie roster Thursday. The 6-foot-9, 222-pound rising junior was a consensus 5-star recruit and a McDonaldβs All-American coming out of Roselle Catholic High School in Gladstone, N.J. By those metrics, he is the highest-ranked high school recruit to sign for an Aggie menβs basketball team.
