Another great season for Kearney girls soccer ends with high praise from the Omaha World-Herald. The Lady Bearcats had a pair of 2nd Team All-State nominees, in Reese Holscher and Abbie Snyder. Squier was also named First Team All-Class A by the Lincoln Journal Star. Holscher scored 16 goals, assisting on 20 more, while Snyder scored 18 goals and assisted on seven more, leading the Lady Bearcats to another trip to the NSAA Class A Girls Soccer Tournament.

The 67th Nebraska Shrine Bowl will kick off on Saturday, showcasing the best high school football seniors in Nebraska. Before kickoff, players meet with the real stars - patients of the Shriners Hospitals for Children in Nebraska - and did just that on Monday with "Beyond the Field Day."This day means a ton for Millard North cornerback, Desmond Dhaenens. The graduating senior has a brother, Orlando, who is a Shriners Children's patient, and took part in "Beyond the Field Day," when he was 12.

For Darrell Dunham and Doug Mitchell, they have been at the helm for four years. The last three seasons have ended in Class C State Championships. But Dunham and Mitchell, they ride into the sunset as State Champs. The duo told NTV News, following Thursday's victory, they will be stepping down as co-head coaches of the boys golf team at Kearney Catholic High School. "It's been fun.

KEARNEY, Neb. — Another great season is in the books for both Kearney soccer programs, including a boys team that was a win away from the NSAA Boys Soccer Championships. It also included a great season for Kaden Slaymaker. The junior was named to the Omaha World-Herald's All-Class A First Team and its All-Nebraska Second Team. Slaymaker led the way for the Bearcats offensively, scoring a team best 18 goals on the season. He led Kearney to a 13-5 finish in Class A.
