SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ -  Each year, the National Safety Council (NSC) designates April as Distracted Driving Awareness Month to draw attention to this serious and preventable problem, with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) also recognizing April as a time to focus on distracted driving prevention.  South Plainfield is joining the effort and, at a council meeting held April 7, a proclamation recognizing April as  ‘Distracted Driving Awareness Month’ in the borough was made.

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, an initiative that recognizes the importance of families and communities working together to prevent child abuse and neglect. For 2025, the theme is ‘Doing Things Differently: Moving from the Challenge to the Change,’ and, at a recent council meeting, a proclamation urging all members of the South Plainfield community to join together to ‘help create healthy, nurturing, and safe experiences for children’ was issued.

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – This summer, the South Plainfield School District Music Department is expanding its summer program offerings. The Instructional/Choral Summer Music Program, a three-week instrumental/choral program for students who will be in third through 12th grade come September, will once again take place in July with a new, week-long Elementary General Music Summer Program for rising first through fourth graders also being offered.
