The first phase of the massive Vicarro development in Abbotsford is set to begin construction later this year. Pacific Peak Homes announced in a press release on April 4 its acquisition of Vicarro Skyline – a 50-home subdivision that is part of the Vicarro development by Diverse Properties. The development on the former Vicarro Ranch property encompasses 383 acres and 1,400 units on Eagle Mountain. It has been in the works for years and received the go-ahead from city council in August 2016.

The recent Make a Difference Sale in Abbotsford raised a record $490,000 in support of the Canadian Foodgrains Bank and its Nature + program. The online auction, which ran from March 8 to 13, saw more than 300 donated items – including cattle from dairy and beef farmers – up for bid. Other items in the auction included barbecues, bikes, berries, baked goods, tools, farm equipment, frozen chicken, gift cards, wheels of Gouda cheese and much more.
