The Chilliwack Progress
The Chilliwack Progress holds the title of being the oldest community newspaper in British Columbia that has continuously operated under the same name in its original location. It began its journey in April 1891, with its very first edition printed on four pages of aging newsprint from a small press owned by W.T. Jackman, which he had set up above a farm supply store on Main Street. Today, the Progress has grown and is published twice a week.
