As the White House prepares to implement tariffs on most of the world, there are efforts to limit the administration. Nebraska congressman Don Bacon introduced a bill he said would restore Congress' constitutional role in trade. Bacon said he is proud to co-lead the Trade Review Act of 2025. The Republican said he thinks the Trump administration could have targeted the tariffs to certain countries better. The bill mirrors Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley's 2019 bill on tariff reform.

Nebraska Task Force 1 deploys to Arkansas to help as floodwaters rise. The Urban Search and Rescue Team is headed to Randolph County, Arkansas. As of Sunday the river stage was in moderate flooding, and was expected to rise a couple more feet.It's one of several states dealing with flooding after severe storms.The National Weather Service said the river will crest higher than predicted. The river levels were around 23 feet.

In just over a month, voters will decide whether Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert will keep her seat for another term or if challenger John Ewing Jr. will win out at the polls. Ewing said Monday that he's confident while adding some endorsements. The Douglas County treasurer said showing unity with other elected officials is critical, adding he's building important relationships to help get things done for the people of Omaha.
