There is expected to be a shortfall of 86,000 by 2036, according to the Association of American Medical CollegesIt's a shortage that will be felt in the Lowcountry as well. By 2030, the Palmetto State will face a shortage of about 3,500 physicians. Overall, 200 of those are in primary care.
