    Despite a second-half spark from No. 11 Southeastern, No. 6 Xavier cruises in a 77-59 victory. The Gold Nuggets were led to their win by Kam Shelly who posted a 22 point performance, followed by Janiya Reed with 16. Southeastern edged Xavier in the third quarter, 19-17, but big plays down the stretch from Shelly, Reed and Lauren Banks allowed them to steer towards a win. “It’s a game of runs,” says head coach Bo Browder.

The Bayou Classic is known nationwide as one of the best games between the two Historic Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Grambling kicked off to start the 51st Bayou Classic. With 5:20 remaining in the first quarter, Jaguars running back CJ Russell powered through for a one-yard touchdown run.
