MIAMISBURG, Ohio (WDTN) — A Korean War Veteran from Miamisburg is finally being honored with a purple heart. Veteran Leroy Campbell is 93 years old now, but in the early 1950’s, he spent more than three years serving in the U.S. Army. Just a few days before the Korean War ended in 1953, Campbell was blown out of a bunker and injured. Now, over seven decades later, Campbell received a purple heart coin while he waits for the official medal, which is still being processed.

Every county in the Miami Valley, except for Montgomery, is dealing with a serious lawyer shortage. The Ohio Access to Justice Foundation says there should be one lawyer for every 700 people. In some places in the region, there are less than 30 private attorneys available to residents.
