    CANNONSBURG, Ky. (WSAZ) - A man has been arrested by Kentucky State Police following a vehicle pursuit where police said he discarded multiple bags of narcotics from the window. Benjamin Layne is facing multiple charges including wanton endangerment of a police officer, tampering with evidence, reckless driving, several drug trafficking charges and several fleeing or evading police charges. Kentucky State Police said is happened during a traffic stop, where they claim Layne first evaded them.

    CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Mountaineer Gas Company says approximately 1,250 customers and 96% of the 46 miles of gas lines affected have had their gas services restored as of 11 a.m. on Thanksgiving. They assure the community that MGC crews and contractors will be working throughout Thanksgiving and the weekend until services are restored to every customer. They anticipate main line system restoration in 3 days, with customer service lines needing to be individually restored.

    KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office participated in a national drug takeback event on October 28th. They said residents surrendered 127.5 pounds of unused medications. These medications were then collected, packaged and turned over to the DEA for proper disposal. The sheriff’s office said that working with the community and federal partners on events like this help to fight drug addiction and substance abuse.

    CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - One person has been transported to the hospital after a water rescue in the Kanawha River. The Charleston Fire Department said the water rescue took place near Haddad Riverfront Park after a man fell off a boat and went underwater. They said the person was alive and CPR was administered.
