    THOMASVILLE - Thomas County Central topped Jackson County on Friday to move on to the second round of the state playoffs. The Lady Jackets sent the Lady Panthers packing in just two games, though the series was not without its drama. Thomas County Central took an early lead in game one after one run was sent in on a hit-by -pitch and a second was walked in. That lead wouldn’t last long, however, as Jackson got the bats going in the middle innings.

    THOMASVILLE - After a stellar season and an incredible win streak, the Thomasville Lady Bulldogs lost in three sets to Pepperell in the second round of the state playoffs. The Lady Dragons had to take down a tough Thomasville group, who put up a good fight. The Lady Bulldogs put up 16, 13, and 12 points in each of the three sets. Pepperell’s star Hannah Smith had 12 kills in the match and two aces.

    THOMASVILLE - It was complete and total domination on Friday night in Thomasville as the Bulldogs obliterated Brantley County in a 62-0 region win. Thomasville started early and hot as Cam Hill hit Si Wilson for a 61-yard passing touchdown. Kayden Walker made his presence known on special teams as, on the ensuing kickoff, he stripped the ball and gave possession back to the Bulldogs.

    THOMASVILLE - Thomasville secured its spot in the second round of the state volleyball tournament after sweeping the Lady Eagles of Mitchell County. It was behind some truly stellar serving that the Lady Bulldogs were able to secure a 3-0 victory. “We are so excited,” said head coach Jackie King. “ We are excited to continue going and going forward. I feel like everyone as a team worked really well.

    THOMASVILLE - It was a phenomenal weekend for Thomasville locals as they hit the gridiron across the nation for college football’s week seven. Starting with the Bulldogs, several players got playing time, including Jimmy Dawson in Albany State’s loss to Miles College, Cole Shaw in Mercer’s 27-point win over Princeton, and Jay Randall in Union’s 21-0 win over St. Andrews. Kam Bradshaw and Logan Thomas also saw the field in Union’s shutout victory.
