I want to lead this talking about two unheralded relievers currently on American League teams fighting for a playoff spot, with both of these guys stepping into high leverage roles due to a rash of injuries to their respective bullpens. Collin Snider has become the top set up option for the Mariners and rightfully so as he holds a 1.15 ERA (2.90 SIERA), and 23.2% K-BB rate over his past 31.1 IP dating back to early July.

+ Top 100 RP rankings for Saves + Holds leagues in 2024. Emmanuel Clase, Bryan Abreu, Lucas Erceg, Tanner Scott, and Devin Williams all had three SV+HLDs this past week, with Clase picking up 4 (in four consecutive days). Mostly the usual suspects here, with two of the top closers in baseball, a top set-up man in Abreu, and two of the more coveted relievers at the deadline in Scott and Erceg.

+ Top 100 RP rankings for Saves + Holds leagues in 2024. Craig Kimbrel, Cionel Pérez, Jason Adam, Yennier Cano, Josh Hader, Ryan Helsley, Kevin Kelly, Tyler Rogers, JoJo Romero, and Jacob Webb all had three SV+HLDs this past week, with Kimbrel and Perez grabbing four. Obviously, there is a lot of Oriole representation here with Kimbrel, Perez, Cano and Webb. Perez misses the list as there’s little upside there, and really is only useful if he is getting multiple holds a week.

+ Top 100 RP rankings for Saves + Holds leagues in 2024. Yennier Cano, Danny Coulombe, Kyle Finnegan, Jason Foley, Hunter Harvey, Ryan Helsley, and Joe Kelly all had three SV+HLD’s this past week. Cano and Coulombe have stepped up this past week with Craig Kimbrel nursing a back injury. Kelly is the wild card of the group, as his numbers don’t look great but it does seem like he is dealing with some bad luck again.

Yennier Cano, Emmanuel Clase, Fernando Cruz, Alexis Díaz, Colin Holderman, Griffin Jax, Craig Kimbrel, Trevor Megill, Héctor Neris, Joel Payamps, Elvis Peguero, Nick Sandlin, and Robert Suarez all had three SV+HLD’s this past week. This might be the most relievers (13) we’ve had pick up three SV+HLD’s in a single week since I started tracking this so I won’t be tough on everyone.
