Coming home from the state meet were a handful of Section four athletes with gold medals wrapped around their necks. “I started reacting coming down the final 100.     BINGHAMTON, NY (WBNG) -- The two-time defending FPHL champion Binghamton Black Bears announced Wednesday morning the re-signing of its team captain, Tyson Kirkby. The Black Bears centerman is returning for his fifth season in the Southern Tier. Kirkby help lead the Bears to back-to-back FPHL Commissioner’s Cup championships in 2023-24, and 2024-25. The captain is the franchises leader goals, assists, points, penalty minutes, and games played.

    ENDICOTT, NY (WBNG) - The centerpiece of summer sports in the Southern Tier is 23 days away from teeing off on its first round. The DICK’S Open is back in July for 2025, and back at En-Joie Golf Club for another year. Preparations are well underway in Endicott for the event, as structures and grandstands are going up all along the greens. This year’s first round tees off on Friday, July 11th, with related events beginning on Sunday, July 6th.

    GENEVA, NY (WBNG) -- Chenango Forks Boys Lacrosse fell one quarter short of the New York State Class D championship on Saturday. The #9 Blue Devils fell 11-8 against the Section V champion, #2 Penn Yan. Forks got out to an early lead behind a hot start from sophomore Bauer Maus. The second year attacker scored the first two goals of the game, and finished with four on the day. The Blue Devils went to the break with a 6-2 lead over the Mustangs.
