Cornell is coming into the Empire State showdown riding the nation’s longest winning streak of 10 in a row. In that time, the team has been well tested. 7 of Cornell’s 15 games this season have been against teams in the NCAA tournament.

VESTAL, NY (WBNG) -- The Binghamton Bearcats are headed back to the big dance for the first time in a decade. The top seeded Bearcats defeated the #4 seed Bryant Bulldogs for the second time in the American East conference tournament, and punched its ticket to the NCAA Championships. The AE conference championship is the first for the Bearcats since 2015, and the second overall in program history. The Bearcats never trailed on Sunday.

ORONO, NY (WBNG) -- Bearcats baseball dropped back to even in both the series with Maine, and on the year as well, after dropping Saturday’s game 8-6. Binghamton is now 22-22 overall on the year, and 10-10 in the conference. Senior 3rd baseman Devin Bade went 2-for-3 in the game, with 2 RBI, and 1 walk. Matt Bolton, Zack Rogacki, and Freddie Forgione all added an RBI as well for Binghamton on the game. The Bearcats left 9 runners on base in Saturday’s game.

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA (WBNG) -- A 5-goal 3rd Quarter pushed the #7 Penn State Nittany Lions passed #15 Colgate 13-11 in the first round of the NCAA National Championship tournament. Colgate led after 1 quarter, and was tied with Penn State at halftime 5-5. The Nittany Lions outscored the Raiders 5-3 out of halftime to take a 10-8 lead into the final quarter. Each team scored 3 times in the 4th as Penn State held on for the win.

BINGHAMTON, NY (WBNG) -- New York Mets top pitching prospect Johan Tong went 6.2 innings perfect. TJ Shook came in relief for the final out. For the first time in the franchise history, the Binghamton Rumble Ponies combined for a perfect game, and a 6-0 win over the Reading Fightin’ Phils. It was not quite 27 up, 27 down as the perfect game is part of a 7 inning doubleheader affair. Tong threw 99 pitched over 6.2 innings, striking out 13 batters.
