According to court records, on Nov. 20, 2023, PNC Bank employees were closing up for the night when a masked David Massie walked into the bank and pulled out a gun. He called out to a teller that this was a robbery.

One student was killed and 21 other people were injured when a school bus returning from a field trip overturned along Interstate 77 in South Carolina. According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, at 1:45 p.m. Thursday, a 2021 Blue Bird school bus was traveling south on I-77 near mile marker 55 in Blackstock when a tire blew out. The bus then struck a guard rail and overturned. Lexington District 2 said that students were traveling home from a field trip in Charlotte.

A Pelzer man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for shooting at an Anderson County deputy nearly six years ago. According to the 10th Judicial Circuit Office, 67-year-old George Morgan was tried this week for charges stemming from the December 2018 incident. Prosecutors said Morgan shot at the deputy, who was conducting a welfare check at the request of Morgan's wife. The deputy fired back, hitting Morgan twice.
