GRAND HAVEN. — A new report from Grand Haven Main Street shows millions of people visit the city each year, but less people are visiting downtown. While the waterfront may be packed with visitors, it's a different story on Main Street where they've seen a 2% drop in visitors since 2023. According to the report, 2.6 million people visited Grand Haven, but less than a third of those, or about 703,000 visitors stopped by downtown.

GRAND HAVEN. — On Friday, the Grand Haven Musical Fountain kicked off another year of lights, music and fun. Entertaining audiences since 1962, the Grand Haven Musical Fountain is back for its 63rd year bringing family fun to the waterfront by synchronizing water and lights to music. The shows play nightly at Lynne Sherwood Waterfront Stadium from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Upcoming shows include Boy Band Night! on Friday, Country Night! on Saturday and New Song Night! on Sunday.

GRAND HAVEN. — People gathered downtown and along the waterfront in Grand Haven Monday to honor fallen heroes as part of Memorial Day. This year's parade concluded with a special dedication of a new memorial at Escanaba Park. The new U.S. Coast Guard Brick Memorial Garden honors the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. Coast Guard. Grand Haven honors its service members unlike any other community in West Michigan, and that was especially evident on Memorial Day.

GRAND RAPIDS. — A new report from Michigan Association of United Ways shows almost half of Michigan families are struggling to pay for basic necessities like housing, childcare and food. "Our families are struggling. The prices for things are fluctuating in these uncertain times so families don't know if they're going to be able to afford food this week." said Liz DeLaLuz, Heart of West Michigan United Way VP of Community Impact.

LAKE MICHIGAN. — With about 100 drownings occurring on the Great Lakes every year, local advocates and state lawmakers are working to keep children safe on the water this summer through education and legislation. According to the Centers for Disease Control, drowning is the second leading cause for accidental deaths in children between 5 and 14.
