WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Two people were rushed to the hospital after a pickup slammed into a west Wichita house. Police say the truck was speeding on Meridian when it went off the road. When it stopped, the pickup was fully inside the house. KSN spoke with a relative of one of the people who was inside the home. “I wanna cry, but you know, I’m holding back my tears,” said Shirley Jacques, whose grandson was inside the house when the crash happened.

Those programs provide vital food and check-ins for vulnerable homebound seniors. The potential loss is impacting people in Howard, a small town in Elk County. Three years ago, Kate Raber was diagnosed with dementia. That’s about the same time her family got her started on friendship meals.

HARPER COUNTY, Kan. (KSNW) – Two new housing developments broke ground in Harper County on Wednesday. Combined, the developments will create dozens of homes aimed at middle-income families. Like other small communities across south-central Kansas, the cities of Harper and Anthony are home to major manufacturers and hope to continue economic expansion. However, attracting new residents is difficult without adequate housing.

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The skies opened up in Kansas this weekend, bringing rain to crops that needed it. It also brought challenges. With harvest time around the corner for wheat, the rain was needed. It’s also opened the door to some inconveniences. Farmer Justin Noland’s corn fields are doing much better after the weekend’s rain. Want to run for office? The deadline is Monday “The color is better, you know, it was kinda starting to get a paler green color to it,” Noland said.
